I was on my way to work this morning when I get this wonderful text from my friend and former coworker, Chari. I had spent much of my morning commute on the phone with Elle fielding a few emails and some other texts when I get this surprise.
What I love most about her text to is she states she’s familair with my work and how I do things. My work. Speaks for itself. And that’s an amazing feeling. When people reach out to you because they know how you treat your work and what you’re passionate about.
And if you’re curious, we have plans to meet up Monday February 24th to discuss this online business. Exciting things, ladies. Exciting things.
I know, I know… I gave this speech about making these last months great and getting back to regularly sharing with you all and what do I do? Disappear again.
But not really.
I just got back from visiting some friends in North Carolina and took some much needed vacay. Prior to that, I had three programs at work I needed to wrap up while I launched a new one — one I am currently in the middle of completing. And still managing my side hustles and part time business while I prepare to launch another part time business dedicated to hustling.
Work has really ramped up to end on a positive and well prepared note for 2020. It’s been a very whirlwind November for me and trust and believe I am happy to see it come to a closure. Especially with me getting 5 days off for Thanksgiving, none of which constitutes as my vacation days.
I’m happy that I got a chance to drop in today. I hope November has not been as crazy for you for as it feels like it’s been for me. I’m going to do my best to end 2019 strong with you all I look forward to what the new year will bring us.
I think I enjoying performing notarizations after work. No having to get up extra early, map out where I’m headed and how much time I need to give myself to get to work. My day doesn’t feel nearly as long when I have a notarization in the evening as it would in the morning. And I’m in a more relax state of mind.
Except… dinner. I could go for something to eat right about now.
Happy Friday to my ladies and gents who follow me and regularly read my posts. I apologize for posting today’s happy Friday late this morning/afternoon. I’m having such a fast paced Friday and I leave two hours earlier due to our summer hours schedule.
And as a result of the memorial day holiday, we’re a little short on staff today, so I am playing my role, ish, as well as the receptionist and stylist. It’s not even noon and I feel burnt out. But, in an accomplished way. Like, I’m helping getting sh*t done, son!
And that’s the attitude I’m taking with me into the long weekend. Getting it done. Making it work. Handlin’ it. But, as hustlers, what else are we going to do?
I will be the first to admit I am awful at taking inventory of all that I do have versus what I don’t have and what I want to have. And it’s easy to do that, to focus on what’s missing or what I need or what I need to save up for. As if my life is truly missing something but it isn’t, at least not missing anything material. Yes, there are things that could be better or in better condition, but I am certainly not without.
I am not without shelter and as the the rents and mortgages keep rising, I should be extremely thankful for that. I am not with a paying job that affords me the opportunities to create side hustles and passion projects. I am not without food. That is a necessity I am happy is covered. My hips don’t lie. I am not without loved ones, who support and encourage my endeavors and aspirations. I am not with goals and dreams. The very elements that make me want to work hard for something more.
I could go on – electricity, in-door plumbing, savings account, public transportation, a car, a phone, a working TV, Netflix – but my point is simple. There’s is nothing wrong with wanting to more for yourself, whatever your “more” maybe. But never forget all that you already have. It definitely puts things into perspective and helps you make wiser and more confident choices. As a hustling lady, we’re always about making wiser and smarter choices for ourselves.
Hey Hustlers!!! Happy Friday!!! I must say, I had a wonderful week from last Saturday up until now and I know it will only get better. So I want to share some thoughts and tips for ya’ll when you wanna give up or when you’re down wondering if this hustlin’ thing is gonna work out for ya.
Stay ConsistentEven when it feels like you are working your ass off and you are not seeing the results, just know someone else sees them and that your hard work is paying off. Just be patient and keep pushing.
Stay True To YouBe authentically you, whatever that is and whatever that looks like. Don’t get blinded by the faux that is social media. If you have a vision, stick with it, and it will evolve.
Keep Positive VibesKeep the energy positive! This is so important because the wrong energy can have a huge effect on you and your success. So be mindful of your energy and the energy you keep around you.
Be Well Find ways to incorporate healthier lifestyle habits from food, physical activity, and meditation. This helps with mental clarity. Once you have mental clarity you will be surprised at what you can achieve and the amazing ideas you come up with.
I give ya’ll these tips because I have been going strong on my wellness journey and it is really paying off for me. So keep pushing. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Part-time Hustle Struggles: Not enough hours in the day
I think one of the most challenging things I find about hustling part time is not having enough time to get everything I want done. Of course, people will say if you want it bad enough, you’ll make time. True. To a point.
And then there those memes that say Beyoncé has the same 24 hours in her as I do. Well, Beyonce isn’t also trying to pay off student loans. Hell, show me one loan Beyoncé had before she blew up big that she struggled to pay off (granted, I don’t know that much about Beyonce’s finances pre-fame).
Let me not side track to what Beyoncé has and what I do not.
Point: it can be challenging to make the serious moves and commitments you need to make when you’re still punching in a clock and on someone else’s schedule.
